Blenheim’s tourism and hospitality landscape is set for a major boost with the arrival of The Alfred Hotel, a 123-room new-build hotel planned to open in 2027.

Located on the banks of the Taylor River, beside the former Clubs of Marlborough site, the six-storey development will be part of a modern riverside hospitality and entertainment precinct. This new destination will include the Marlborough Wine and Food Experience (opened September 2025), the planned Oak and Ivy restaurant, the ASB Theatre, and the Marlborough Events Centre.

The Alfred Hotel will be connected to the Alfred Taylor Centre (the redeveloped Clubs of Marlborough building) via a first-floor airbridge, with reception and shared facilities located in the centre. Together, this precinct will provide a distinctive visitor hub designed to enhance Marlborough’s tourism offering and meet the growing demand for quality hotel supply.
