Kirk Roberts Consulting is celebrating the announcement of eleven new leaders to support ongoing business growth, clients, and staff. The awarding of Associate recognises future leaders in the business and recognises those that ‘live and breathe’ Kirk Roberts values.

The 11 Associates based throughout New Zealand are outstanding individuals dedicated to the success of others, demonstrating their technical excellence and commitment to clients.

NEW ASSOCIATES

David Cooney, Associate, Structural Design Pod Leader – Auckland

David has been named Associate and is based in the Auckland office. David is the Structural Team Lead responsible for the day-to-day operations of the commercial structural department. David is highly skilled in all aspects of structural design and analysis. He has broad experience displayed primarily in the design of commercial, low to medium rise construction.

Hayden Rhoda, Associate, Structural Draughting Team Leader, Auckland 

Hayden has been named Associate.  Based in the Auckland office, Hayden is the Structural Draughting Team Leader, with broad and diverse experience throughout all codes of draughting in the structural, BIM discipline.

He is a driven designer, combining both design and detailing within the construction industry. Hayden actively coordinates all aspects of the design with other members of the design team to ensure the projects he works on are delivered with the highest level of quality.

James Creek, Associate, Senior Civil Engineer, Auckland 

James has been named Associate. A Civil Engineer based in the Auckland office, James has experience in both the United States and New Zealand. Since joining Kirk Roberts in 2016, James has provided civil engineering designs (including stormwater, wastewater, water supply, flooding, and Common Access Ways).

He is well versed in commercial and industrial project coordination and his approach to design ensures that his designs are both constructible and economical for his client.

Parthiban Ariyaratnam, Associate, Structural Design Pod Leader, Auckland 

Parthiban has been named Associate. Parthiban is a Senior Structural Engineers and leads the Residential Team in Auckland. He has worked on a broad range of projects in both the residential and commercial fields.

Parthiban provides valuable engineering design input on projects from their preliminary to detailed design phases and ensures this high level of design is followed in construction through to completion. He has a relaxed and personable approach to his work, and this has let him to develop long-term relationships with many clients.

Daniel Augustine, Associate, Architectural Team Leader, Tauranga

Dan has been named Associate. He is based in the Tauranga office and is a Senior Architectural Designer with over 19 years’ experience undertaking design and documentation within the residential, commercial, industrial and education sectors. His versatile skillset has seen him accumulate a wide range of experience across multiple dwelling residential subdivisions, medium scale residential apartments, developments, small and large-scale alterations/additions/refurbishments, plus small/light industrial and commercial projects.

Daniel is focused and committed to good architecture through continued development of knowledge of architectural design principles and relevant procedures and building codes. He relishes working with clients to develop innovative architectural designs that align with their budget whilst also expressing their design preferences.

Nathan Gilling, Associate, Structural Manager, Tauranga

Nathan has been named Associate and works in the Tauranga office. As a Structural Manager, Nathan enjoys achieving an architect’s aspirations and visions through well-thought-out design and detailing that are practical and aesthetic. Nathan has worked on commercial, industrial, and residential projects in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He has expertise in developing solutions including using off-site modular construction. Nathan has provided the structural design of many complex projects focusing on the coordination of disciplines, and providing simple, efficient solutions that ease construction.

Aidan Hynes, Associate, Structural Manager and National Specifi Manager, Christchurch

Aidan has been named Associate. Based in the Christchurch office Aidan, a chartered Structural Engineer, has broad and extensive overseas and local experience working on a wide range of residential developments. He has comprehensive knowledge of the construction and engineering industry, further enhanced by his primary focus on low-rise residential buildings. He brings an energetic, organised approach to all his work with a naturally mindful knack of being influential and readily able to interact with his fellow team members, clients, stakeholders, and all involved with the projects that he works upon.

Firas Salman, Associate, Technical Director – Geotechnical, Christchurch

Firas has been named Associate and is the Technical Director for Geotechnical Engineering based in Christchurch. With over 20 years’ experience in New Zealand, Malaysia, and the Middle East, Firas provides best-practice advice for a wide range of industrial, commercial, and residential developments that enables clients to make informed decisions.

He has extensive experience in a wide range of geotechnical topics that helped him to design and deliver many complex geotechnical projects.

James Jackson, Associate, Environmental Manager, Christchurch

James has been named Associate and is based in the Christchurch office.  James is a Chartered Environmental Engineer and with his experience in earthwork and site engineering operations, combined with multi-discipline engineering knowledge, civil construction experience, and a practical mindset, ensures cost-effective ground solutions are provided on a project. James has developed and led the environmental engineering department, providing a connection between environmental, geotechnical and civil engineering operations. Being a combined Environmental and Geotechnical Engineer, while working closely with the Civil Engineering department, James offers clients effective and practical site management, remediation, and earthwork engineering solutions.

Rui Li, Associate, Structural Technical Leader, Christchurch

Rui has been named Associate. Working out of the Christchurch office Rui is a Senior Structural Engineer and a Structural Technical Leader. With considerable experience Rui has worked on a broad range of projects in both the residential and commercial fields. He provides valuable engineering design input on projects through all design phases and ensures this high level of design is followed in construction through to completion, delivering them to the highest level of quality.

Saxon Gordon, National Structural Manager, Christchurch

Saxon has been named Associate and is the Structural Manager in Christchurch. Saxon is highly skilled in all aspects of structural design and analysis and has broad experience displayed primarily in the design and assessment of commercial, low to medium rise construction. He has proven himself through a range of successful engineering projects, naturally progressing to lead the commercial structural team in the Christchurch office.
