Steve Temple is the Regional Manager for Kirk Roberts’ Hamilton office, bringing 20 years of experience in ground engineering, project management, and leadership across New Zealand’s infrastructure sector.
With a career spanning transport, land development, energy, and government projects, Steve has developed specialist expertise in contractor management and the delivery of large-scale ground investigations from concept through to completion. His skills include contractor procurement, instrumentation and monitoring, and managing the complexities of multi-disciplinary teams to achieve robust and cost-effective outcomes.
Before joining Kirk Roberts, Steve worked extensively on major infrastructure projects across New Zealand, spanning transport, energy, government, and land development sectors. His background includes large-scale ground investigations, contractor management, and project leadership from concept through to delivery. This foundation gives him a deep understanding of client requirements, and the multi-disciplinary coordination needed to deliver successful outcomes.
Since taking on the Hamilton Regional Manager role, Steve has focused on growing a high-performing office that combines technical excellence with trusted client relationships. One standout project under his leadership is the Tamahere Country Club, a large lifestyle development where Kirk Roberts has provided multi-disciplinary services across residential units, bridges, clubhouses, a café, and an aged care facility. The project reflects Steve’s ability to oversee complex, multi-faceted work while balancing innovation, efficiency, and client priorities.
Alongside project delivery, Steve has also brought his strong health and safety expertise to Kirk Roberts, having previously led H&S initiatives from client, consultant, and contractor perspectives. His leadership style is collaborative, pragmatic, and people-focused, backed by his belief that great teams deliver great projects.
