Our Hamilton geotechnical and structural engineers have provided engineering consultancy services on a number of developments for the Tamahere Country Club, including the villas, club house, house spa, aged care facility, the Lakehouse and bridges and now the stylish café as well.
For the café structure, our structural engineers utilised two-way portal frame systems and a steel gravity structure. The Café has complex geometry with a ridge running diagonally along the building and multiple layers of cantilevered façade walls. The steel work provided design challenges due to the Café’s unique shape and requirement to have large windows and openings allowing natural light to fill the interior space.
Our structural engineering consultants worked closely with the architects and the client to provide practical structural solutions while maintaining the Café’s stunning architecture. The result? – The project progressed with no RFI’s through council and the structural steel went together without a hitch. No site welding was required.
We thank the Sanderson Group for trusting us with yet another remarkable project. Our geotechnical and structural engineers’ expertise and collaborative approach ensure innovative solutions that balance technical precision, with stunning design. We’re proud to have contributed to the ongoing development of this reputable and luxurious retirement village in the Waikato region and look forward to future opportunities to work together.

“Engaging Kirk Robert’s structural and geotechnical engineers has been brilliant, especially for accountability having both disciplines under one roof.” – Nathan Sanderson, Sanderson Group
