MSc., CPEng, PEng, MIPENZ
Jan Jober-Studnicka is the Regional Manager for Kirk Roberts’ Auckland office, where he leads a diverse team of more than 20 professionals and champions a culture of collaboration, innovation, and trust. With nearly 20 years of engineering experience spanning New Zealand, Europe, and North America, Jan brings an international perspective to the analysis, design, and delivery of multidisciplinary projects.
A Chartered Professional Engineer in Structural Engineering and a Registered Professional Engineer in Canada, Jan’s expertise lies in structural engineering and modular delivery. He has a particular strength in rethinking traditional approaches, introducing modular and volumetric design methods to deliver projects with both cost efficiency and innovation. His leadership is recognised not only for technical integrity but also for the ability to balance deadlines and challenges with calm clarity — and often a dose of humour.
Jan’s project leadership has seen him guide complex developments from concept through to completion, ranging from healthcare facilities and residential communities to large-scale commercial and hospitality ventures. Recent work includes the redevelopment of CHT Karaka Residential Care Facility in Auckland, the Acacia Park Rest Home in Omokoroa, the multi-disciplinary delivery of Te Arai Links Golf Resort in Mangawhai, and internationally, the striking timber roof structure of the Star Mountain Plaza Convention Centre in Papua New Guinea.
Having lived and worked in the Czech Republic, Spain, England, Ireland, and Canada before settling in New Zealand, Jan draws on a wealth of international experience to shape projects that are both locally responsive and globally informed.
