New World Wairoa is open and operational!

Our team delivered the brand new 2,009 sqm store for Foodstuffs North Island, alongside the Project Managers, Frequency Projects Limited, and STEAD Construction. We utilised a multidiscipline approach incorporating Design, Engineering, and Fabrication to deliver this $16 million project.

The 2,009 sqm store features a 1,062sqm main retail area (RTA) with a 591 sqm two-level (in-part) back-of-house area and a stepped-down 356 sqm loading area (LOA) to allow for ease of truck entry and truck exit to existing contours/pavement and road levels. The store utilises precast panels and steel primary and secondary structures throughout, whilst the majority of the exterior walls, roof, and soffit area/s are clad using ‘Kingspan’ insulated panels. This provides an insulated, thermally broken, and prefinished finish both inside and out, that is durable and easy clean whilst ensuring a considerably faster close-in period for the building envelope.

We delivered this project utilising our geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, structural detailing, fire engineering, and fabrication (both Precast Panel & Steel Shop Drawings) departments.  Our architectural department was the design lead for the base build / building envelope including overall statutory (BC) lead for the project.

We are proud to deliver this valuable asset to the Wairoa community.
