Kirk Roberts Consulting provided civil engineering services for the new Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club base, a vital piece of community and emergency response infrastructure on the Papamoa coastline. The new facility replaced the original 1990 building and delivers almost three times the footprint, responding to significant growth in membership from approximately 150 members to more than 800.
Located in a coastal environment, the project required careful civil engineering consideration to support the operational needs of a modern surf lifesaving facility. Our civil engineering input supported site access, circulation, and key site services, helping ensure the larger footprint functions efficiently and safely once operational. This project reflects our experience delivering civil engineering for coastal community facilities, where durability, access, and site performance are critical. It also demonstrates our capability in the recreation sector, supporting public-facing recreation infrastructure that serves both local communities and visitors.
Delivered through long-term planning and community investment over more than a decade, the project resulted in a new, fit-for-purpose base that supports surf lifesaving operations, emergency response readiness, and the ongoing safety and resilience of the Papamoa community.
