Completed - Silver Award at NZ Commercial Project Awards 2024

Silver Award in the 2024 New Zealand Commercial Projects Commercial Award Category.

Lot 33 at the Three Parks Development, a new community and commercial precinct in Wanaka, is a remarkable example of innovative architecture. Three Parks is a mixed-use Business Park on a prominent corner at the Southern end of Sir Tim Wallis Drive, and this two storey mixed-use tenancy accommodates retail and service tenants with office space above.

Working closely to Willowridge’s design brief, a cost-effective solution was provided to maximise the gross floor area and construction efficiency alongside providing simple just elegant forms with building material and cladding to add visual contrast.

With the architecture team working alongside our structural and fire engineers the aim was to provide a cost-effective building that still met all the structural and fire requirements, and provided flexibility for future tenants forming spaces with plenty of natural light, great views out to the mountains and a building that sits elegantly on the street creating active facades. Structurally the core allowed for modular systems to minimise the steel member sizes which are separated by concrete panels to create large open spaces in each tenancy. This reduced time and cost in construction.

The project used contemporary materials in keeping with the neighbouring buildings and surrounding alpine environment, while the strategic window placement offers incredible views of the Wanaka landscape.

This stunning project was recognised with a silver award at the 2024 Commercial Projects Award in the commercial category.
