The Family Bach, nestled in Hanmer Springs, North Canterbury, is a testament to innovative structural engineering and architectural design. We provided multi-disciplinary support on this award-winning project as geotechnical and structural engineering consultants.

We collaborated closely with Cymon Allfrey Architect to bring this unique retreat to life. The design features three distinct structures organized around a communal outdoor space, each allowing for independent living while encouraging social interaction. Today, The Family Bach stands as a cherished inter-generational family asset, fostering qualities of holiday making and memory creation. We’re proud to have contributed to the innovative design of Cymon Allfrey Architect.

Awards: The Family Bach received a Housing Award in the 2018 Canterbury Architecture Awards.
