The Riverside Market has quickly become an iconic meeting point for Cantabrians. The 5,000m² market boasts more than 60 retail shops, stalls – including organic food retailers – and several food outlets.
The market won the Yardi Retail Property Award at the 2020 Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards. It has been described by the judges as a, “world-class inner-city retail, hospitality, food and produce market”.
Kirk Roberts worked in close collaboration with the client on several aspects of the build from architectural design to structural and geotechnical engineering, and project management. The result is a stunning and structurally sound building that is appealing to the eye. We’re proud to have created a space in the heart of Christchurch where locals and visitors flock to enjoy themselves.
