How does the Quality Assurance process work in Specifi™?
Quality Assurance is built into every Specifi™ project. Once you’ve completed your design, it is reviewed by a qualified Specifi™ structural engineer within two working days of it being submitted.
This process ensures your design is robust, compliant, and optimised, and it significantly reduces the risk of human error. You’ll be notified as soon as your final documentation is ready to download.
Does using Specifi™ add any risk or liability to my project?
No, there is no additional risk or liability to you when using Specifi™. In fact, our process is designed to reduce risk by ensuring every design is reviewed and approved by a fully qualified, chartered engineer.
This is the same level of assurance you would receive from working directly with an external engineer, but with a much faster turnaround.

What documentation does Specifi™ provide?
Specifi™ generates a full suite of documentation to support your consent application and construction process.
This includes project and design summaries, detailed specifications, calculations, Quality Assurance summaries, Producer Statements (PS1), LBP forms, and a QR code for accessing the latest version of your documents.
All documentation is developed in consultation to ensure full compliance with New Zealand regulations.
Can Specifi™ handle bespoke or complex engineering requirements?
Yes, if your project requires engineering solutions outside the standard scope of Specifi™, our experienced engineers can design these for you.
We will seamlessly integrate any bespoke solutions into your project documentation, ensuring a smooth and efficient process from start to finish.
How quickly will I receive my final engineering documentation?
Once you submit your design through Specifi™, our Quality Assurance process is completed within two working days.
As soon as your design is reviewed and approved, you’ll receive notification that your final documentation is ready to download.
Can I carry out my own site inspections with Specifi™?
Yes, if you become a Verified Specifi™ User, you can undertake your own site inspections and complete an online checklist for the issue of a PS4 (Producer Statement for Construction Review). This checklist is tailored to your project and meets all regulatory requirements.
To become a Verified User, you must hold NZIA, CPEng, or LBP (Design or Site, Level 1, 2, or 3) credentials.
How does Specifi™ ensure compliance with New Zealand building standards?
Specifi™ has been developed in close consultation to ensure all outputs meet New Zealand building codes and standards.
