Multidiscipline Commercial Renovation Project
Located on one of Tauranga’s key arterial routes, Tauranga Motor Group is a premium hub for a wide selection of vehicles in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. This commercial renovation project, completed in 2023, transformed their facility into a state-of-the-art “supersite” that reflects the Group’s commitment to quality and service.
Our Kirk Roberts team utilised a multidiscipline approach to deliver this project, combining design and engineering services to bring the $1.8 million vision to life. This comprehensive upgrade included the development of a neighbouring 0.1 ha allotment to create a new vehicle display yard, as well as the installation of two prominent 8m signage pylons.
The project was a collaborative effort that involved our geotechnical, structural, fire, and civil engineering teams, spread across multiple office locations in Christchurch, Tauranga, and Auckland. Our architectural department took the lead on design coordination and managed three staged consents to ensure a smooth, sequenced construction process, achieving the specific opening date set by the client.
Given that the existing building was over 30 years old, it required extensive architectural, fire, and structural evaluations. Our team worked closely with the main contractor and local authorities throughout the construction phase, streamlining approvals to minimize delays and keep the project on track.
The outcome is a modern, highly functional showroom and workshop that serves as a landmark for Tauranga Motor Group’s customers. Our collaboration across multiple disciplines ensured a seamless integration of design and engineering solutions, setting a new benchmark for commercial renovations in the region.
