A Landmark Commercial Building in Tauranga’s Industrial Hub

Kirk Roberts Consulting was engaged to design and deliver a statement commercial building for Adrenalyn Motorcycles, a bold and fast-growing brand in the motorcycle industry. Located in Tauranga’s Matakokiri Drive business park, the new facility needed to function as a high-performance workplace while also turning heads from the street, a brief that inspired a striking and contemporary design.

This $3 million commercial project integrates a 335m² two-level office and motorcycle showroom, a spacious 507m² workshop, and a 75m² mezzanine storage area, all built to support a growing business and deliver an engaging experience for customers and staff alike.

Seamless Collaboration Across Disciplines

Our Tauranga-based architectural team led the project from concept to completion, working alongside our structural, civil, fire, and geotechnical engineering teams in Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch. The result: a fully integrated solution, delivered under one roof by Kirk Roberts’ multidisciplinary consultancy team.

One standout example of this collaboration was the development of a cost-effective ground improvement strategy. By coordinating closely, our geotechnical and structural engineers proposed a lightweight geofoam raft system- a smart alternative to traditional foundations that saved both time and budget without compromising performance.

Smart Design with Street Presence

• A striking red aluminium composite panel façade at the office entry
• A mono-pitch roof to reduce maintenance and eliminate internal gutters
• Precast concrete panels and primary steel structure for durability and scale
• Full-height glazing with custom aluminium joinery fins to maximise natural light and create visual impact

We worked closely with product designers and manufacturers to detail these critical elements, ensuring that the motorcycle showroom design aligned with the client’s vision of making a bold impression.

Throughout construction, our Tauranga construction monitoring team maintained quality assurance to meet timelines and compliance standards.
