Kirk Roberts was engaged by a joint venture between MOMS Commercial Holding Ltd & Shaker Investment Trust to design a commercial industrial ‘precinct’ development in Papamoa. Set in the stunning beach suburb the project involved developing and building 14 commercial studio units with full office fit out, spread over three land titles to be converted into 14 unit titles.
Our team provided multidiscipline consultancy leading the client through finalising the scheme plan design, full council plans and all the engineering along with providing construction oversight. Our role included a full multidiscipline approach with Architecture undertaking the Architectural design and design lead, which included Geotechnical, Structural, Civil and Fire Engineering services, along with engagement and management of all required subconsultants for a successful building consent application.
The intent for the design of this project was to create a structurally efficient design that ensured a fast ‘close-in’ phase. Achieved by ensuring an integrated Architectural and Structural designed exterior ‘concrete precast’ construction façade methodology with long-spanning ‘Kingspan’ insulated roof panels. Overall this ensured that considerable ‘value for the client’ was achieved through cost, program, material selection and constructability.
