We have a newly created role for an experienced Structural Manager to join our high performing team in Auckland.  With an increase in large scale projects both in the region and nationally, we are looking for a talented and experienced Manager to lead and develop our established Structural discipline.

About the role

You will lead the delivery of projects, as well as provide specialised technical expertise on complex residential and commercial projects. Establishing and maintaining client relationships; preparing preliminary designs, supervising detailed designs, managing on-site investigations and monitoring, and reporting on the progress of project delivery and technical development within the team.

  • Lead the structural team of engineers, draughting and technicians. Creating a high-performance focused culture through personal leadership, teamwork, coaching and mentoring of individuals
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all clients, stakeholders, suppliers and contractors
  • Produce proposals and further develop our business achieving sustainable growth
  • Manage all size projects, including cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of overall company strategies

About you

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, empathy for others, sociable and friendly, with a positive drive and resilience
  • CPEng qualified with 10-15 years+ professional structural engineering experience in New Zealand, with solid technical expertise in seismic design
  • Understand risk, be commercially astute and place a high regard on client satisfaction
  • Experience in leading and managing the delivery of structural engineering projects
  • Adept at planning and organising multiple teams that collaborate effectively with internal disciplines and external stakeholders to deliver successful projects
  • Strong leadership skills, mentoring team members, being a role model for promoting high work standards to deliver high quality client projects on time and within budget
  • Thrive on a challenge and be motivated to provide innovative and cost-efficient solutions for our clients
