NATIONAL STRUCTURAL MANAGER

We want our National Structural Manager to further develop and drive our strategic goals for our structural division across New Zealand.

About the role

As the National Structural Manager, you will be responsible for business development - developing and maintaining key national Clients with each local office, working across key projects so we are at the forefront of Structural Engineering design and delivery in New Zealand.

You will also be responsible for the monthly reporting of the Structural teams’ financial results to the Executive Management Team.

  • Identify and develop key market sectors and clients, and build sources of revenue to achieve sustainable growth for each of our offices
  • Produce winning engineering fee proposals in collaboration with other disciplines for key projects. Review and sign-off key project fee proposals
  • Manage key projects, including cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets
  • Assist the Regional Managers with strategy and client care
  • Drive collaboration on projects with other engineering disciplines, project management and architecture both internally and externally
  • Audit key projects for financial performance against fee proposal and provide feedback
  • Provide technical leadership to the team and ensure their ongoing development, providing mentoring, guidance and training in conjunction with the Technical Director and local Managers
  • Manage, implement and audit team compliance with quality systems and procedures

About you

  • CPEng qualified Structural Engineer with 10 years+ professional experience in New Zealand, with solid technical understanding of seismic design
  • Proven track record of managing multiple teams. Demonstrated strategic and business development experience
  • Understand risk, commercially astute and a high level of financial competency
  • Conversant with all the current relevant NZ Building Codes, statutory requirements, Acts and Codes
  • Strong leadership skills, a role model for promoting high work standards to deliver high quality client projects on time, within budget and exceeding clients expectations
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, empathy for others, sociable and friendly, with a positive drive and resilience
  • Adept at planning and organising multiple teams that collaborate effectively with internal disciplines and external stakeholders to deliver successful projects
