Kirk Roberts Consulting Engineers is committed to the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors and visitors to our work areas.

We enable and have developed a culture that ensures employees conduct business in a manner that protects the safety and health of themselves and others in the workplace.

We maintain a goal of zero workplace injuries, which is consistent with our vision and values that any workplace injuries are preventable.


To achieve this outcome we:

  • Provide a safe and healthy workplace in accordance with acceptable industry standards and practices.
  • Conduct business in a manner that actively integrates the elements of Kirk Roberts health and safety management system into all aspects of operations.
  • Comply with all applicable legislation, regulations, codes of practice and safe operating procedures relevant to the workplace.
  • Ensure procedures are in place to proactively identify and control hazards/risks in the workplace.
  • Allocate responsibilities and accountabilities through job descriptions and performance monitoring.
  • Support employees in their decision to stop work and intervene when unsafe acts or unsafe conditions are identified.
  • Report all incidents, injuries and illnesses in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide rehabilitation and safe, timely and sustainable return to work plans for injured employees.
  • Communicate and consult openly with employees, subcontractors and visitors to our work areas regarding Kirk Roberts' workplace health and safety arrangements.
  • Develop processes that facilitate continual improvement in the health and safety management system and our health and safety performance through the ongoing realisation of risk reduction strategies.
  • Provide the necessary resources and training to ensure that the objectives and targets derived from this policy are achieved and that employees are trained and competent to undertake their assigned tasks.


The Health and Safety Committee Representative will actively participate in the implementation, monitoring, review and planning of health and safety policies, systems and safe work practices in Kirk Roberts'. Contractors and subcontractors are responsible for ensuring that their activities are undertaken safely. They must comply with their legal obligations and with Kirk Roberts’s health and safety policies, procedures and programmes. This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure that it continues to accurately reflect the scope of our activities.
