As Managing Director and Senior Structural Engineer Jade has ultimate responsibility and accountability for the company’s excellence in engineering track record.

His initial work experience as a qualified quantity surveyor ensures that clients gain invaluable expertise across cost minimisation and value engineering.

Over the past decade Jade has demonstrated his business acumen in building the company into a 65-strong team working across 3 city centres.

In the aftermath of the Canterbury earthquakes Jade led the teams that prepared the structural engineering for the region's first draft of PRESSS technology multi-storey commercial buildings in both concrete and timber.

Jade has also embedded a company culture based on delivering clients cost-effective and leading-edge engineering solutions and designs, technical expertise and developing business relationships built on integrity and performance. Cumulatively this has enabled Kirk Roberts to design some of the most technically advanced structures in New Zealand.


Steve Roberts

As a Director and principle geotechnical engineer Steven oversees the geotechnical departments across all Kirk Roberts offices.

His enthusiasm for geotechnical engineering followed 20 years of diverse experience within civil engineering.

Steven has driven Kirk Roberts' reputation for geotechnical engineering to new heights with his strict focus on both accountability and innovation. He led the company to explore new techniques in stone column foundations resulting in significant improvements in cost effectiveness and project delivery that has benefitted a range of clients.

His specialistion includes liquefaction assessment, ground improvement and foundation design for industrial and commercial buildings.


Damian McMillan


Director, Tauranga

As a director and an experienced structural and civil engineer Damian drives the company’s quality assurance systems and processes as well as its business strategy and implementation.

Damian is a highly experienced structural and civil engineer and oversees the operations of the Tauranga and Auckland offices.

Working across a variety of projects Damian can be relied upon to identify key issues and to ensure that the technical detail of all engineering work is exemplary.

The company’s reputation and project portfolio across the upper North Island reflects his leadership alongside the economic development of the various regions.
